Balmain - Women's Spring/Summer 2019 Collection in Paris

Designer: Olivier RousteingInspiration: Clearly inspired by Ancient Egypt, the collection takes us to the 80s and pays a vibrant tribute to the fashion icon of the 80s: Grace Jones, through corsets, pleats, hoods, tuxedos with exaggerated shoulders and dresses with rounded sleeves.Collection: Sexy dresses, jackets with square shoulders, tuxedos, black and white trousers, and metallic embellishments show us all the Balmain codes are there, but seen in a prism of Ancient Egypt. The most obvious is the knitted two-piece printed with hieroglyphs and the dress decorated with the effigy of a pharaoh. Fine details are seen on skin-tight dresses and two-pieces made from bandages similar to mummies as well as deconstructed tweed suits. The same is seen for delicate plissé soleil lotus dresses and tops. Everything resembles transparent lotus mosaic clothing. Note: Thigh boots and numerous proposals of bags covered in Plexiglas both give an optical illusion effect.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
